The contents discovered inside a Quantum vehicle in Kensington, Johannesburg, left the police utterly astonished and taken aback.
Officers from the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department were able to liberate two hostages who were being kept captive inside of a white Toyota Quantum in addition to apprehending three suspects over the course of their investigation.
Officers who were patrolling Langerman Drive reportedly saw two victims being kidnapped and forced into a white Toyota Quantum at gunpoint. This information was published in the News section of the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department.
A silver Toyota Etios without any registration plates fled in one direction from Kensington, while a white Toyota Quantum with the victims inside fled in the opposite direction. Both vehicles were Toyotas. Once the police began to pursue the Quantum in an effort to rescue the victims, a shooting broke out, which resulted in the Quantum losing control of the vehicle and crashing into a tree at the corner of the street.
It is believed that the victims were carrying a large sum of cash that was stolen by the other three suspects in the Toyota Etios. The Toyota Etios was stopped by police, and two 9mm pistols were found in the possession of the suspects inside the vehicle. During the process of the victims' rescue by the police, who also found two 9mm pistols, the victims were not injured.
The two suspects who are currently in police custody are going to be brought before a judge to answer for the armed robberies and commercial hold-ups they committed in the Jeppe region.
