Kaizer Chiefs set to open contract negotiations with fan favourite
Kaizer Chiefs may have made a whole raft of signings at the beginning of the current season, but they still look keen to keep some of the ‘older’ faces.
Chiefs made a total of nine signings during the recently concluded transfer window, with the likes of Thathayoane Ditlhokwe, Given Msimango, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Edson Castillo, Pule Mmodi, Ranga Chivaviro, Tebogo Potsane, Jassond Gonzales as well as Sibongiseni Mthethwa.
In that list is an attacking midfielder in the shape of Mdantsane, who has had an indifferent start to life at Chiefs, in his debut season at the club. But of course, it hasn’t been the first time the former Cape Town City star has donned the famous gold and black colours of Amakhosi. The player was once part of the club’s academy before pursuing first team opportunities elsewhere. He will now be hoping to cement his place in the team’s senior structures.
However, he has not been the only player produced by Chiefs, to want to make an impact in that position, as he battles with homegrown star Nkosingiphile Ngcobo. Ngcobo was thought to be finally set to come off age last season, when the coach who took him through the club’s academy structures, Arthur Zwane, took charge of the first team.
